Finding a Cover School in Alabama

Step 1 to begining your homeschool adventure is finding a cover school.  I spent months seaching for the perfect fit.  I considered each cover school's requirements (statement of faith, lesson plans, interviews), attendance policy, record keeping, activities, and price.  I found what I felt was the perfect match, and our cover school influenced our first few sucessful years practicing education in our home. You can only imagine my disapointment when I received a letter at the end of the school year informing me that our cover school was closing! So, now I'm back to square one.... dilligently searching for my second perfect fit.  I did find a very impressive comprehensive list of coverschools in Alabama.  Here is the link if you happen to find yourself in the same sad situation as our family.

Home School Online: Online Learning and Mobile Devices

We are a homeschooling family, but for some reason our learning rarely takes place at home. We are usually outside, on a field trip, at the library, in the car, sitting in the waiting room at the doctor's office, in my office, waiting for hockey practice to start... almost anywhere except the formal school-room at home. We use time4learning.com as our core home school curriculum, but I've been disappointed when some of the video clips and activities wouldn't load on the ipad. I found this really helpful post that explains (with step by step pictures) how to change the settings on your Kindle Fire and an app to download on your ipad that will enable this particular website and others that require flash players to work. I have a feeling this next year will be glorious. :) Home School Online: Online Learning and Mobile Devices:
